charity: water is a non-profit bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. Since 2006, we’ve funded more than 17,673 water projects in 24 developing countries. When complete, these projects will provide clean, safe drinking water for more than 5.6 million people.
Nearly 663 million people don’t have access to clean drinking water, that’s one in nine of us. Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.
The good news: there are simple solutions, from deep drilled wells to water filtration systems. And with the help of 400,000+ donors and individual fundraisers, we’re forming a strong force against the water crisis. Join us.
As a Senior Key Relationships Officer, you’ll be responsible for engaging and stewarding a portfolio of new high net worth (HNW) supporters for clean water projects. Your passion and optimism for ending the water crisis drives your desire to find brand new relationships resulting in major donor gifts ($6K+) to support charity: water’s vision and mission. You will grow the investment of existing supporters, as well as build a generous community of major donors by inviting them to help charity: water reach its revenue objectives, offering radical transparency, our 100% model and a brand built on hope. You’ll spend most of your time identifying prospects and meeting face-to-face with existing and potential supporters to help the team meet and exceed its annual revenue targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- As a member of the team, you’ll report to the Director of Key Relationships and work alongside the front-line fundraising team to achieve its collective annual revenue goals ($22MM in 2016).
- You’ll be integral to executing strategies focused on new acquisition and repeatable growth for major donors giving to water ($12MM+) and operations ($10MM).
- You’ll build a robust portfolio of major gift supporters and engage people who have never been involved with charity: water.
- You’ll be responsible for prospecting potential new major donors using various direct methods (such as calling and face-to-face meetings), networking, and research.
- You’ll strategize to cultivate long-term key relationships, encouraging individuals to participate at new and increased levels, to involve their networks, and to optimize their lifetime value as investors.
- You’ll analyze supporter data to find new opportunities and ensure all activities are measurable to drive efficiency and maximize results.
- You’ll help coordinate intimate outreach events where the charity: water story can be shared, working to turn the excitement of every guest into an opportunity to support our mission.
- You’ll deliver an exceptional experience for all charity: water supporters and facilitate strong relationships between them and the organization.
