United States of America: Sr Systems Engineer


SUMMARY:
Provision, Install, Configure, Monitor and Maintain systems hardware and software infrastructure on premise and AWS. Participate in Managing Google Apps infrastructure. Manage technical needs of ERP solutions including administering databases. Research and implement new technologies, including SaaS based solutions to solve staff needs. Advocates NDI’s technology solutions and its adoption. This job requires regular after-hours work and need to be available on an on-call basis after-hours and weekends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:



  1. Administer MS Windows Server 2008R2 and 2012 Domain, file and print servers. Manage Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.




  2. Follows NDI Tech team’s documented policies and procedures.




  3. Assist in managing backups, recovery and disaster recovery




  4. Assist in managing NDI’s network including Cisco routers and switches, Cisco Wireless infrastructure, Cisco and Netapp storage area network, Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco IPS




  5. Manage NDI’s information security and information assurance programs




  6. Manage virtual server infrastructure




  7. Assist in managing Amazon and VMware infrastructure




  8. Knowledge in security products like Bit9 and ArcSight.




  9. Other duties as assigned.

  1. Proficient with Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager, Group Policies and PowerShell.




  2. Work independently with initiative and as a member of a team to manage high volume work-flow.

  13. Knowledge of server operations, data communications and systems analysis and networks.




  14. Knowledge of networking, client server architecture, cloud computing and enterprise system architecture




  15. Knowledge of network security issues, policies and implementation techniques




  16. Knowledge of fundamentals of digital security principles including: network and software risk assessment; basic understanding of vulnerability/penetration testing and code review




  17. Experience with project management system required; JIRA experience highly valued




  18. Understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design

    WORKING CONDITIONS:



Occasional local travel for conferences and professional meetings; Supports systems work productivity and access with occasional non-core work hours (e.g. evenings and/or weekends)


Required Education and Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree required. Masters degree preferred. Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred. Technical certifications preferred.




  • Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience and a minimum of six (6) years of experience with Systems Administration




  • Experience with an international development organization preferred




  • Experience in writing technical documentation




  • Ability to communicate difficult and sensitive information tactfully




  • Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design




  • Expert level understanding of networking, client server architecture, cloud computing and enterprise system architecture




  • MCSE certification preferred




  • Experience in managing VoIP infrastructure preferred




  • Experience managing technical staff preferred




  • Expertise in Tivoli Storage Manager, NetApp SAN, Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Govwin and/or Lawson preferred.
