United States of America: Human Resources Associate


The HR Associate performs mid-level administrative duties related to processing benefits enrollments, maintaining files and records, and drafting department memos. He / She also supports the Senior HR Coordinator and HR Manager with administrative duties as needed. A professional support-based attitude is crucial to the success of this role.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, with other duties upon request:


  • Orders ID badges and business cards;

  • Drafts Payroll Action Forms;

  • Perform data entry in HRIS as requested;

  • Maintain Personnel files including but not limited to benefits onboarding and tracking;

  • Enters benefit plans in HRIS based upon employee elections;

  • Enter employees into benefits vendor websites;

  • Draft employment verification letters upon request;

  • Draft department memos for organization wide communications;

  • Support members of HR department with administrative tasks as requested;

  • Understanding of and demonstrated commitment to upholding Internews’ Core Values.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years office administration experience, preferably in Human Resources

  • Proven ability handling confidential and/or sensitive information

  • Prior experience with databases, preferably an HRIS

  • Strong grasp of Microsoft Windows environment including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Explorer

  • Organized, logical, detail-oriented

  • Ability to take direction, yet work independently and complete tasks on time

  • Experience working in collaborative team environment

  • Strong writing and grammar skills, strong interpersonal skills

  • Internet savvy

  • Experience with web-authoring, intranet, and/or page layout software, a plus

  • Previous experience working with a Talent Management or Applicant Tracking software, a plus

  • International experience, a plus

  • University degree, or equivalent
