Hotel Assistant Manager - Diamond Mills Hotel and Tavern - Saugerties, NY






Position Summary The Assistant General Manager’s role at this hotel includes the oversight of all aspects of hotel operations in accordance with the Hotel’s mission statement, including the maximization of financial performance, guest satisfaction, and staff development within established quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • This position is responsible for daily operations of the hotel to maintain standards for guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and quality assurance.

  • Assist in the daily operations of the hotel including rooms, housekeeping, and front desk

  • Perform front desk administrative related tasks, including monitoring all reservations including group blocks and rate management.

  • Ensure that operational standards are met in regards to sanitation codes and laws, and loss prevention

  • Is Acting General Manager when General Manager is otherwise engaged

  • Supervises Housekeeping Department

  • Generate detailed daily reports of days activites to submit to General Manager

  • Work with the Tavern Staff to facilitate a team environment between the Front and Back of House staff

  • Assist in the creation of financial reports for management that clearly explain operational effectiveness, trends and variances.

  • Ensure good safety practices of employees and guests, assisting in the maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures

  • Ensure hotel is operated in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and requirements of federal, state or municipal authorities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)


  • College Degree in Business, Hospitality, or Related field preferred

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the hotel industry

  • Proficient computer skills required

  • Ability to attract, motivate, lead, inspire and direct a talented team

  • Excellent communication skills, public speaking, written and oral, with the ability to customize message to the audience (guest, team member, owner and other stakeholders)

  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast paced environment, and maintain a high level attention to detail

  • Outgoing individual with high energy to lead, develop, motivate and empower employees to deliver operational best practice, identify opportunities, and makes recommendations for improving efficiency, quality of service and operating standards

  • Is required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel which may include nights, weekends and holidays
