The Communications Consultant is responsible for writing, creating, reviewing, revising, modifying Relief International’s Benefit Brochure. This position will be required to utilize specialized knowledge of Human Resources to write, research and prepare the revised draft version of the existing brochure.


Essential Position Responsibilities and Duties:


· Reviews and edits material for proper use of terminology, style, direction, content, grammar, punctuation and clarity. Will decide with organization the best file format to be used (i.e. word, InDesign)


· Will provide rounds of drafts for the original template. One round for major changes; and others for minor changes. Once that is complete, cascade the changes across all of the versions, with one round of changes for those versions.


· At beginning of consultancy RI will provide source and backup information requested by the Contractor, which includes, but is not limited to, all current, applicable summaries of benefits for various benefits, and all summary plan descriptions, and anything else necessary to draft and revise a benefits brochure.


· Ensures communication created is concise, clear, and employee friendly


· Assists with the format and language on the Brochure


· Revamps RI employee benefit brochure as a selling point to prospective candidates. Brochure language should be enticing, and express RI’s interest for employee well-being. There are different level of employee benefit packages for International, Regional, and USA (DC+CA) locations


· Prepares appropriate publications for web based and paper brochures. Final versions will be reviewed by RI, and final content accuracy will be RI responsibility.

Qualifications and Requirements:


Bachelor’s Degree. If degree is in other than a directly related field, work requires one year of directly related writing experience in a business setting to become familiar with related materials or, an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.


Excellent English required, oral and written.


A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, InDesign, Publisher, etc.), graphics, and desktop publishing packages to prepare and/or enhance materials.


Proven experience creating corporate/organizational literature and other forms of communication in a business environment


Excellent spelling and grammatical skills to administer the editorial production of materials, as described above.


Strong attention to detail in documented processes.


Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact and communicate with department staff, employees and management with regard to the production of communication materials, as described above.


Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Ability to accept critical feedback on work product
