Job Summary


YOU MUST BE A CURRENT UK STUDENT TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION .


A local plasma donation center is seeking students who are interested in working as as a Donor Support Technician. The primary responsibilities for this position include preparing the donor, donor area, including the donor booth and autopheresis machines for the pheresis process, monitoring the donor and the pheresis process, and responding to specific alarms or signals that may occur during the process while maintaining awareness to any reaction a donor may have during or after the pheresis process.


May be involved in daily calibration and troubleshooting of equipment, including resolution of out-of-spec results and equipment failures.


Ensuring the accurate and legible recording of patient data in charts, records and Donor Management System ( DMS ) as outlined in SOPs.


Maintaining a clean and efficient work environment and ensuring sufficient operating supplies are available as needed, following all Health Safety and Environment SOPs and OSHA policies and procedures, and maintaining confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.


Skills / Knowledge / Abilities


REQUIRED :
Must be able to perform basic math calculations and be proficient in the English language.


Must have a minimum of three months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Must be willing to work through the summer and during the school year including through some holidays.
