Position Title: Advocacy & Communications Coordinator, NCD Synergies

Through our partnership with Harvard Medical School and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, we support a wide range of programs in dozens of other countries around the world.
General Responsibilities:
The Advocacy and Communications Coordinator will be an essential part of a small team focused on changing the discussion at the national and global policy level around NCDs and injuries. With strong writing and advocacy skills, the Coordinator will support academic work and content development, including support of patient advocacy efforts and managing the editorial calendar for online content under the strategic direction of the program manager. The Advocacy and Communications Coordinator will have a key role around logistics and event planning for a growing international team, including making travel arrangements and coordinating itineraries. The position will handle administrative support for the project, including scheduling, supporting resource development, and assisting with team communications and consultant and country relationships. The Coordinator should be comfortable working with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook, highly organized, and fluent in English. A high degree of professionalism is essential, as is an ability to work with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds.
Specific Responsibilities:
Writing and Content Development (50%)
- Primary responsibility for managing editorial calendar for NCDSynergies.org, and provide support to social media efforts for NCD Synergies.
- With guidance from program manager, provide primary writing support for patient advocacy projects related to NCDI Poverty Commission.
- Provide support to resource development efforts and grant reporting.
- Provide support to ongoing academic research and related projects.
Event Planning / Logistics (25%)
- With research coordinator, provide primary logistical support for all NCD Synergies events, including knowledge sharing, advocacy events, and international meetings.
- Support travel logistics for a growing and international team, including submitting travel requests and coordinating meeting and conference itineraries.
- Support coordination of meetings related to national NCDI Poverty commissions
Administrative support (25%)
- Provide administrative support to the NCD Synergies project, including:
- Schedule meetings and calls as needed and coordinate team calendar.
- Provide administrative support to resource development and grant funded relationships, including coordination and assisting with reporting.
- Support the recruitment, contracting, and onboarding process for consultants and country representatives.
- Coordinate regular communication with consultants and country representatives.
- Support and maintain project management platform and other systems across complex working team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience (2 years minimum) in program or logistics support.
- Comfort with resource development and grant reporting
- Strong writing and communications skills
- Fluent in English (written and oral)
- Excellent command of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to support a team effectively across varied academic and cultural backgrounds
- Self-motivated with unfailing attention to detail and organizational skills
- Impeccable integrity when dealing with sensitive financial or hiring information
- Ability to work independently and take initiative; must be a quick learner, able to multi-task, and easily adapt to changing circumstances.
