Broadcom is developing next generation wireless access products for consumer electronics, PCs, access points and broadband routers. We’re looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and motivated engineer excited about 4G wireless access products to join our LTE small cell development team.



In this position you will:



• Work with a team of talented engineers to design, develop, and evaluate physical layer algorithms, MAC layer algorithms and self-organizing network algorithms for LTE and LTE-Advanced small cell technologies.



• Contribute to the implementation of the algorithms and the development of system level and network level simulation platforms. 



• Provide specifications to teams responsible for SoC FW and SW implementation, and platform testing.



• Support teams responsible for the FW/SW/reference platform implementation and lab/field testing to verify the design and validate performance of the algorithms.






 






Requirements:






A Ph.D degree in wireless communications, with 10+ years work experience in the area of cellular communications is required.






• A good academic background in the areas of wireless communications and signal processing, packet scheduling, link adaptation, cellular network optimization, with at least five years post-graduate industrial experience developing algorithms for LTE and LTE-A physical layer, MAC layer and RRM/OAM.



• Detailed knowledge of 3GPP LTE standards covering both RAN1/2/3 and SA2/5. Good knowledge of Home eNodeB/small cell management system (based on TR-069 and TR-196) and LTE network OAM



• Expertise in theory of OFDM, MIMO, interference cancellation, cross-layer optimization, self-organizing networks algorithms such as auto configuration, mobility optimization, load balancing, coverage and capacity trade-off and optimization, self-healing algorithms, as well as deep understanding of high density cellular network deployment use cases and issues.



• Ability to program effectively in C/C++, and Matlab. Skills to take existing simulation platforms and ramp up quickly are highly valued.



• Highly motivated and excited by the prospect of working on innovative technologies in a fast-paced start-up-like environment.



• Flexibility for work assignment, even it is outside own area of expertise. Willing to learn new things and learn them fast
