Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school and GA medical license;
- Board Certified or Board Admissible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice; Board certification must be achieved within 2 years of hire date;
- Long-term interest in Southeast Georgia Health System;
- Ability to work as a team member; and
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Primary Job Duties
- Admitting medical patients 16 years of age and older (adult);
- Limited Intensive/Critical Care patients;
- Average of 12-20 patient contacts per shift;
- Demonstrates, by action and attitude, customer service excellence standards, treating each patient, family member and referring physician as an esteemed customer;
- 23 bed med/surg floor and 6 bed ICU that is more like a stepdown unit but does have ventilators for respiratory failure, IV drips for sepsis/hypotension, irregular heart rhythms, DKA, etc.
- Transfer out unstable patients to larger sister hospital in Brunswick, Georgia or 30 minutes south to Jacksonville, Florida.
- Average daily census is typically 14-16 and the calls at night range from 2-5.
