Group Profile:**
MSI’s Organizational Development working group consists of OD practitioners who support and share information across projects and practice areas within the company. The group develops and tailors OD tools and products (such as assessments) and provides support for business development and communications products. The group holds meetings approximately once a month to discuss new developments in the field of OD and learn about recent experiences from MSI projects, among other topics. The team is currently developing a guide and materials that will help incorporate the Rapid Results Approach into MSI’s work.
Position Summary:
MSI is now accepting applications for its Organizational Development Internship position. The position is available immediately and will last until approximately May 31, 2016, with the possibility for extension based on performance, how well the candidate works with the team, and the needs of the Organizational Development Team.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting a facilitator’s guide to the Rapid Results Approach.
- Researching and writing about organizational development approaches and tools.
- Reviewing and analyzing organizational development tools.
- Capturing ideas and conversations during meetings.
- Writing concept notes and narrative on MSI OD qualifications.
- Group knowledge management and drafting basic graphics.
- Reviewing and editing documents for the ongoing Capacity Development Assessment.
- Additional tasks as identified.
Qualifications:
- Solid critical thinking/analytical and problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Research experience.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and oral presentation).
- Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills, including facilitation.
- Ability to effectively interface with a wide variety of people including senior managers.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize within a multi-tasking environment.
- Self- starter, comfortable taking initiative and executing tasks with little supervision.
- Previous experience with organizational development is desired.
- Completion of education with a minimum of a BA/BS degree in Management, Organizational
- Development, Development Studies or other relevant field.
- Preferred one to three years of progressively responsible experience in a related professional, technical or research position.
- Capacity development experience in the field is advantageous.
As often as possible, we match interns with projects that best suit both their skills and interests. Internships require a commitment up to 28 hours/week.
