Location Information


This position is located at the Boldman Compressor Station in Pikeville, KY.


Responsibilities


PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE:


Assists in diagnosing, dismantling, repairing, assembling and performing maintenance on controls, engines, compressors, auxiliaries and various other types of equipment at compressor station.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Performs maintenance, overhaul and repair of compressor station equipment by performing such duties as: dismantling all types of compressor station equipment; assisting in cleaning parts; inspecting vital parts for wear, etc. repairing or replacing worn engine parts; fitting, realigning and assembling the equipment; starting up, checking and adjusting equipment for proper operation, such as: setting ignition, timing, injection valve clearance, etc., and compiles or furnishes information for miscellaneous reports and forms.

  • Performs quality tests on lubricating oil, cooling fluids and glycol.

  • Inspects for gas leaks and assisting in maintaining safety equipment. Makes plug valve inspections, repairs, and records results.

  • Overhaul of engines, using micrometers, dial indicators and miscellaneous hand tools. Makes cathodic corrosion tests and records results.

  • Tests safety devices repair if necessary. Repairs water and gas leaks. Inspects fire extinguishers and replaces damaged or deteriorated parts.

  • Manages contractors and vendors while on-site

  • Responsible for appropriate assigned duties for completion of work orders utilizing computerized maintenance system program.

  • Adhere to environmental policies by collecting samples, following appropriate reporting procedures and associated clean up of any spills.

  • Assists in the compilation of shipping manifests.

  • Completes various reports that include maintenance reports, and monthly, and annual reports.

  • Uses computer for various tasks including but not limited to, time entry, e-mail, environmental reporting, station reporting,

  • Must be willing to be confined-space trained

  • Knowledgeable of appropriate health and safety training in order to adhere

  • Ability to understand piping operating drawings

  • Performs valve operation and maintenance

  • Order/reorder necessary parts and supplies

  • Required basic operating knowledge of respective facility

  • Willing to train and develop skills to fill-in for Maintenance Mechanic when needed.

  • Test and inspect lubricating systems

  • Assists in planning of work and participates as necessary in safety and/or team meetings and discussions.

  • Willing to be NDI and NDT trained.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Basic Computer skills required


Must be capable of obtaining required op-qual tasks for the position.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:


Subject to call-out and overtime. Some travel to other facilities for training and necessary maintenance. Exposure to extremeweather conditions.
