Under close direction from storekeeper, or supervision by supervisor, receives, stores and distributes supplies and equipment.
Established pattern of good work habits and performance with good interpersonal skills.
1. Adheres to all OSHA and/or Ohio University required safety guidelines.
2. Receives shipments, unloads stock and checks for correct quantity and condition; stores, issues and may deliver supplies and equipment; may be responsible for laundry; assists in maintenance of perpetual inventory control; maintains all related records; answers phone.
3. Maintains clean and orderly storeroom, refrigerators and freezers. Reports accidents and malfunctioning equipment.
4. Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge of all applicable OSHA and/or Ohio University safety guidelines and procedures.
• Knowledge of proper storage & food handling techniques.
• Ability to carry out simple instructions in written, oral, and pictorial form.
• Ability to work independently or with others.
• Demonstrated willingness to work with diverse populations.
• Ability to read & write common vocabulary in sentence structure.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide whole numbers, calculate fractions, decimals & percentages.
• Ability to apply principles to solve practical problems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (occasional stock weight 60-80 lbs.)
• May be exposed to extreme temperatures, prolonged standing (8 hours/day), heights
• Successful completion of a test may be required.
• Valid Driver’s license.
