Position Summary:
The New York City public school system is the largest in the country, composed of approximately 1.1 million students and 75,000+ teachers in over 1,700 schools. The New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) is partnering with school leaders, staff, families and community partners across the city to transform 94 schools through the School Renewal Program.
The School Renewal Program is a call to action. The NYCDOE will work intensively with each Renewal School community over the next three years, setting clear goals and —with support from Central—holding each school community accountable for rapid improvement.
Support Staff will support the implementation of the Office of Renewal Schools (ORS)’s professional development plan. The individual will be responsible for assisting with the execution of projects that support professional development offerings. He or she will also provide logistical support to all ORS constituents as well as supporting other work streams as needed.

Director of Program Planning and Evaluation
Key Relationships:
Works closely with the Program Managers as well as the Director of Operations, Director of Cross Functional Projects and Programming, Director of Data, Analytics and Renewal Accountability, Director of High School Renewal, Director of K-8 Renewal, as well as other support staff and various ORS stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
-Plan and implement all logistics relating to project meetings and professional development.
-Manage communication for all project meetings and professional development.
-Draft, copy edit and format resources and communication documents.
-Oversee project planning and implementation.
-Keep project plans up-to-date and manage performance against them.
-Perform ongoing resource management to ensure project resources are efficiently utilized.
-Collaborate with people across the organization and vendors to get work done.
-Manage project budget and purchase orders
-Promote practical, innovative methods to overcome issues and quickly clear roadblocks.
-Ensure project transparency with timely and effective project communications.
-Hold regular project status meetings.
-Escalate issues and risks as appropriate.
Preferred Qualification Requirements:
-Familiarity with the New York City public school system.
-Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
-Strong leadership, negotiation, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
-Strong writing and communication skills.
-Flexibility to work within a constant shifting environment.
Salary: $30/hr
NOTE: The filling of all positions is subject to budget availability and/or grant funding.
