Position Summary


The Washington, DC-based Global Operations Coordinator is responsible for excellence in all operations functions at headquarters and in support of the field offices including procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory and shipping, assets, fleet, travel. The Global Operations Coordinator will work in partnership with the Los Angeles-based Global Operations Coordinator and will serve as a de facto regional operations director for two of four RI “regions”—Africa, Asia, Middle East, and Global (US & UK). The Global Operations Coordinator may be tasked on short notice with responding to emergency relief efforts, serving as an emergency logistics coordinator overseas for emergency start-up efforts.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES:


Operations – Procurement. Logistics & Administrative


· Provide support to all RI offices, as needed, including management of all standard procurement, distribution, records, inventory processes in line with RI and donor policies and regulations.


  • Work with country directors and in-country operations teams to improve operational systems and ensure standard operation policies and procedures are adhered to.

  • Provide hands-on contributions to in-country personnel on all operational, logistical, procurement and administration matters when mobilizing and implementing new projects.

Emergency Logistics


  • Co-ordination and overall responsibility of all program logistics; develop country procedures, guidelines and policies for management of procurement, vehicle fleets, communication systems, emergency preparedness, IT and security in line with RI guidelines and procedures.

Administrative Management


  • Provide support in tracking of overseas bank accounts, signatories, country registrations, powers of attorney documents, and board resolutions. Maintain and update tracking database

  • Responsible for ordering and restocking supplies, and managing relationships with outside vendors for Washington, DC office.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:


  • At least 5 years’ operations experience with international relief and/or development programs, preferably in community sustainable development and/or post-conflict humanitarian aid

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and manage competing priorities

  • Extremely detail-oriented, yet comfortable with ambiguity

  • Professional, positive, energetic, and patient attitude with a good sense of humor

  • Ability to travel internationally to challenging locations

  • An analytical mindset with strong problem solving, communication, and writing skills

  • B.A. in management, administration or related field
