Must be board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine.  The Primary Care Mental Health Integration internist position at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System is a collaborative position with the goal of providing outpatient primary care and some inpatient medical care to patients in the Mental Healthcare Group. The MH-PC internist will attend to the routine medical care needs as well as acute medical care needs for veterans with underlying psychiatric illnesses. In addition, the MH-PC internist will collaborate with mental health primary care nurse practitioners who provide medical care to veterans with underlying mental health illnesses.
