Position Description/Requirements


Chemists and Materials Scientists fill a variety of entry-level positions within Dow Corning Corporation. Entry-level positions involve working within multi-functional teams to develop new products and materials for internal and external customers. Chemists and Materials Scientists within Dow Corning may coordinate analytical characterization of materials, determine and implement green ways to produce materials and products and work to understand the impact of materials on the environment. Chemists and Materials Scientists are responsible for understanding their customers’ needs, finding innovative solutions to problems and implementing cost effective technology to meet the needs of their customers.


Potential Locations:

• Corporate Site in Midland, MI

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and/or Materials Science with a graduation date in the current academic year (December 2015 – August 2016) or a recent college graduate (December 2014 – August 2015)

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 (no rounding)

• Able to start employment by August 2016

Position Requirements:

• Three months of related employment experience through either internships or cooperative education is preferred

• Knowledge of chemical principles, chemical characterization, working knowledge of laboratory scale equipment and proficient in laboratory techniques

• Demonstrated high level of integrity, thoroughness, flexibility, initiative and teamwork

• Excellent written and oral English communication and excellent interpersonal communication skills
