Broadcom is developing power management solutions to cover advanced charging schemes with a focus on wireless charging solutions to support diverse mobile applications and accurate energy management, as well as a full range of integrated switching (DC-DC) and linear (LDO) regulators which are customized to meet state of the art efficiency targets.
– The Wireless team is looking for a digital designer with knowledge of power management IC and wireless charging. In this capacity, the candidate should have konwlege of various wireless standards like A4WP, PMA, and WPC. The candidate needs to have sufficient knowlege of battery and energy management including USB BC1.x standrad, fuel gauging , and charging algorithms.
– Understanding of linear and switching regulators, ADC, various communication buses like, I2C, SPI, MIPI, BIF, UART is a plus. The logic designer should be able to carry the design of a new product from concept to production. The candidate must be fluent in a high level hardware secription language like Verilog or VHDL , synthesisi tools like Synopsis), and timing tools like Primetime.
– Knowledge of back end design and ability and willingless to work closely with physical designers to complete place and route, and meet power and timing targets are among the requrements for this position.
Requirements:
o MSEE/CE with 12+ years or PhD with 9+ years of experience
o Fluent in high level hardware language such as Verilog
o Mixed signal IC design with emphasis on low-power implementation
o Expertise in synthesis tools such as synopsis, timing tools such as Primetime
o Knowledge of battery charging and management
o Knowledge of various wireless standards (A4WP,PMA, and WPC)
o Strong verbal and written communication skills
o Carry out design from product requirement definition to RTL and physical implementation
o Familiarity to FPGA development to emulate various wireless charging is a plus
o Knowledge of back end and physical design, and be able to work closely with physical designers to complete PnR and timing closure
