Broadcom is developing next generation Wireless (Wi-Fi) products for consumer electronics, PCs, Access Points and broadband routers. Broadcom’s AirForce family of 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN solutions are enabled across many product platforms. Wi-Fi based products are very rapidly growing, driven by Broadcom’s innovation and technology leadership. We’re looking for energetic, enthusiastic and driven engineers excited about 802.11 wireless networking, network protocols and embedded systems.
In this position you will work with a team to develop and debug Wireless LAN (WLAN) chips and systems for very high volume mobile and embedded consumer electronics designs. The job spans pre-silicon architecture and HW/SW algorithm design/implementation/test to chip bring-up and characterization. Working with DSP, silicon, and RF designers in Broadcom’s market leading WLAN group, you will help realize chip designs for integration into an ever increasing array of mobile and embedded devices.
REQUIREMENTS:
– Total engineering minimum experience required is typically a BS degree and 6 years of experience, an MS degree and 3 years of experience or a PhD or equivalent.
– BS (EE/Electrical Engineering or CS/Computer Science) required, MS (EE or CS) preferred or equivalent.
– Wireless design experience strongly desired
– Strong programming skills. Knowledge of C, Matlab, Tcl desirable.
– Understanding of hardware design principles and some HDL (VHDL/Verilog) literacy.
– DSP experience is desirable.
– RF experience is desirable.
– Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
– Must have excellent engineering problem solving skills.
– Must be self motivated and comfortable working independently.
