United States of America: Deputy Project Director, Analytical Services

CAMRIS seeks a qualified Deputy Project Directorcandidate for an upcoming 2016 USAID Analytical Services contract. This contract will provide technical services specifically designed to enhance the impact of USAID-funded democracy and governance (DG) strategies and programs through field support and program management services in the areas of governance, rule of law, elections and political processes, anti-corruption, conflict mitigation, and civil society.


Responsibilities:


Deputy Project Director:will provide technical leadership and directly assist the Project Director in activity implementation and management. Duties will include:


  • In the absence of the Project Director, the Deputy Project Director will assume full responsibility for the project.

  • Direct and supervise technical specialists and program staff and consultants.

  • Support the contract by providing oversight for operational and service delivery aspects of the program

  • Lead on management of sub contracting component of the project—identifying, managing, and mobilizing US and local companies and organizations to provide high-quality services

  • Develop, review, and revise work plans; track progress against work plans, both on individual task orders and for the overall program.

  • Promote coordination and support implementation of all key project activities, with emphasis on ensuring high-quality analytical services.

  • Liaise with interagency officials, as appropriate.

  • Facilitate capacity building initiatives, directly facilitate technical capacity building, and support coordination with the DRG Center and other clients.

  • Coordinate and liaise with other key external stakeholders

  • Ensure productive relationships with the peer implementing partners

  • Establish and maintain effective and transparent project reporting, evaluation, and communication systems. Submit timely accurate and professional program reports that meet contract requirements.

  • Work with project staff to develop materials to promote the project and disseminate key project results in consultation with COP.

Qualifications:


  • At least ten years of progressively increasing responsibility working in international development.

  • Experience in managing the monitoring and evaluation components of USAID projects

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain professional relationships, and to work collaboratively with host government agencies, civil society, and community-based organizations, and other donors.

  • Proven ability to manage technical assistance teams and ability to integrate teams of professionals around common goals.

  • Ability to fully and effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, in English and at least one foreign language.
