Incumbent performs a wide variety of human resources and administrative tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed in the Grand Junction Veterans Healthcare System, Human Resources, Grand Junction, CO. Incumbent provides technical assistance to the Human Resources Development (HRD) team and to staff in serviced organizations. Provides clerical/administrative support for the Chief, Human Resources Management Service. Incumbent performs HR Assistant and general office and clerical support work. Receives and screens applicants and employee telephone calls and answers inquiries concerning the employing organization’s structure and functions or general questions concerning HR office procedures. Incumbent will be responsible to answer inquiries regarding types of vacancies and vacancy announcements, procedures for filling applications, receipt and disposition of applications, and general questions concerning Federal Employment. Maintains method of advertisement for vacancy announcements with employing organization and distributes Merit Promotion, Competitive, Status, OPM, and DEU vacancy announcements to the appropriate departments or mailing list. Maintains Without Compensation (WOC) applications and ensures required forms are completed. Incumbent maintains database for all advertisement expenses. Merit Promotion announcements, DEU announcements, and WOC workers. Performs computer troubleshooting; initiates computer and phone work orders; creates computer accounts for new employees, assigns menus and keys as appropriate. Receives position descriptions (PDs) to be classified, assigns number, forwards PD to the classifier, and tracks PDs to their completion. Disseminate completed PD to appropriate service, electronic HR file, and recruitment folder. Provides support for monthly, quarterly and yearly report requirements. Incumbent will assist with the preparation and tracking process for Human Resources Management Service, Medical Center Memorandums. Provides back-up assistance to the VetPro, ADPAC and EDRP functions. Incumbent is the primary purchase card holder for the Service responsible for all purchase card transactions for Employee Health and Staffing and Recruitment expenditures. This will include purchase of employee physicals, recruitment advertisement, and various miscellaneous items. Incumbent will also provide back-up purchase card responsibility for VetPro expenses.
