SENIOR PATIENT INFORMATION COORDINATOR - MOUNTAIN VIEW FAMILY MEDICINE - Pennsylvania





Performs secretarial and clerical functions in direct support of the department. Position has direct customer contact to obtain accurate demographic and insurance information. Responsible for entering information into the system to ensure accurate billing. Communicates with internal and external customers. Facilitates referrals, authorization, scheduling and patient flow through the scheduling, billing, and referral process. Serves as a resource for the clinical/secretarial/clerical staff in the practice, keeping them current on changes in practices and procedures. Represents the office at the Lead Office staff meeting and serves as a contact between the office and the billing department.

• Completion of Post-Secondary Secretarial course work or 3-5 years physician front office experience.

• Current CPR (BLS)

• Or completion within 6 months of hire/transfer.

Prior Experience:

• 3-5 years outpatient physician office experience with progressively more responsible experience in a leadership role.

• Medical Terminology and Coding

• Functional Skills on PC and Related Software (Microsoft Office)

• Knowledge of basic Office Equipment such as copier, fax machine, etc.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

• Ability to communicate with all members of the health care team

• Independent thinking and decision-making ability

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
