The Clerical Associate performs administrative and clerical duties in support of an assigned clinical area.
Responsibilities:
- Greets patients and visitors, answers/screens/routes telephone calls, files, distributes mail and performs other general clerical duties.
- Communicates with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members about patient care according to protocol.
- Types various reports and documents for unit staff.
- Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assembles and maintains patient charts.

- Communicates with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members about services provided.
- Maintains appropriate files, records, and work area. Maintains supplies and equipment of department. All other duties as assigned.
- May be required to secure medications in individual patient medication drawers.
Qualifications Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prefer completion of a training program for clerical associates
Work Experience:
- One (1) – two (2) years health care or office administrative experience preferred.
