The Casino Database Analyst is responsible for developing accurate forecasts and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the property with a focus on Casino and Marketing analytics, while striving towards an enhancement of database growth, customer service and property profitability. Also responsible for the creation and implementation of marketing analytics, list generation, set up and reporting for all direct mail programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains excellent development and advanced understanding of industry trends, gaming terminology and new emerging gaming techniques
- Builds pro-formas and reviews P&Ls to measure performance
- Performs independent analytical research to identify and resolve complex data and validate results
- Collects and organizes data using complex database queries, software systems, and business intelligence tools
- Set up and analyze direct mail programs
- Leads all ad hoc analytics as new initiatives arise while consistently looking for improvements to reduce unnecessary or duplicative work
- Analyzes financial information to determine profitability and provide recommendations as appropriate
- Creates segmentation through Konami Casino Management System (KCMS) system, MS SQL, and other tools
- Utilizes advanced data-mining techniques and programming languages (e.g. SQL) to create accurate and timely reporting with a focus on data integrity
- Analyzes and create weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as needed
- Responsible for maintaining database integrity and working closely with IT department in troubleshooting issues
- Gather, modify and query all data needed for generating Direct Mail lists for all campaigns, as well as, formatting and delivering the list to appropriate parties
- Develops and manages regularly scheduled reports for Direct Mail/Database department
- Assist other departments in pre and post analysis of Events, Promotions, Entertainment, Marketing, Player Development and other marketing campaigns
- Independently identifies and applies statistical methods to customer database, identifying significant marketing trends and identifying profitable or otherwise desirable customer profile groups in an effort to increase casino patronage.
- Develops strong accountable working relationship with internal departments, as well as, outside vendors to coordinate all Direct Mail campaigns
- Assists Direct Mail team in validating data proofs for every Direct Mail campaigns.
- Works closely with Senior Management to identify risks and opportunities, tracks actual performance vs. budget, and establishes key performance indicators for individual business units and combined property
- Manipulates multiple lines of data into comprehensive reports that require little to no explanation for the end user
- Develops presentations to summarize and communicate key messages to senior management
- Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Preferably three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in data base marketing and casino analytics with strong background on utilizing multiple databases and business intelligence/reporting tools to manage data and reports
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel/Casino Management, Finance/Accounting or Computer Science is required
- Must be proficient in Excel and Access – SQL and Crystal Reporting is preferred
- Experience with the following is preferred but not required: KCMS and VizExplorer
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license as determined by Cahuilla Tribal Gaming Agency
- Must have a strong understanding of Financial performance and analytics
- Understanding of master data management including data modeling techniques as it relates to business (i.e. SQL Server) and budgeting systems. Proficient understanding of visual basic macros and automation principals with an expert level in all Microsoft Office programs
- Previous experience working for Casino Operations is required
- Demonstrated knowledge of Casino Operating Systems such as KCMS is required
- Both a written and verbal interpersonal skill set will be necessary
- Must have excellent organization and be able to present Casino reports in a cohesive and intelligent manner
- Ability to analyze and interpret departmental needs and results.
- High confidence and the ability to maintain confidentiality is a must
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must meet requirements to qualify for a Cahuilla Casino Gaming License.
