Head of IT Development – Multi channel Retailer
This leading fast paced speciality retailer prides itself on delivering the best in customer experience through adopting the use of technology throughout all aspects of its operations – covering stores, e- commerce fulfilment, warehousing, stock management, marketing and finance.
The role of Head of IT Development has now arisen to steer the retailer though its next stage in adopting innovative retail technology and IT developments. The business is now searching for an ambitious, talented and career focused individual that is looking for their next challenge.
Reporting to the IT Director, this highly visible role requires you to manage your team of Business Analysts and IT Project Managers and be responsible for the development, ownership and management of numerous key company wide IT development projects on a rolling 12 / 18 rolling month cycle. Key aspect of the role will include:
- Management of all system development, control and responsible for all internal and external resource
- Ensure appropriate processes are in place to manage full life cycle of projects and development requests
- Capital budget and revenue control
- Team and people management
- Excellent communication and be able to work effectively across all aspects of the business
- Be aware of new developments within the Retail technology landscape and likely impact upon the business
- Manage steering groups and develop supporting business cases
- Work with the IT Services team regarding handover and deployment
System knowledge to include: MS Project, Multichannel, Personalisation, BI, Communication infrastructure, EPOS, Merchandising / PO systems, Warehouse Management Systems.
Ideal candidates will have a degree in a mathematical, IT or related discipline and be working for a fast paced multichannel retailer and will have progressed their IT Development career through a Project Manager / Programme Manager role.
