This position assists and leads various aspects needed to produce the traveling Tour de Fat event. This position will be responsible for either Non-Profit Organization coordination or event logistic coordination. Additionally, this position is part of the team responsible for festival set up and breakdown in each city. Non-Profit Organization (NPO) Coordination is the planner for all things related to Tour de Fat Non Profit Partnerships, including but not limited to volunteer staffing and expectations, permit acquisition and promotional efforts.


Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Organize, communicate and execute with Non Profit Partners on all aspects of Tour de Fat: volunteer recruitment, retention, training, promotional efforts, fundraising, onsite volunteer supervision and post event recaps

  • Facilitate the collaboration and communication between NPO Volunteer Coordinator/Event Coordinator and local NBB Field Marketing Manager as it relates to developing an integrated local promotional plan

  • Understand and communicate the NPO mission and purpose to the TDF/NBB event team prior to the event

  • Media liaison/spokesperson for the local NPO. Must have a solid grasp of the local advocacy impact we’re making, the local NPO’s purpose, and be able to speak to in in the media as well as contribute to local press release content

Desired Skills/Experience (but not limited to):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training and work related experience PLUS minimum of 2 years applicable work experience in special events or non-profit coordination

  • Proven experience in a communications role; ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written to large groups

  • Solid skills, knowledge and abilities in communication, organization, detail management, and working with the public

  • Ability to exercise initiative and judgment

  • Squeaky clean Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR)

  • A post offer/pre-hire assessment will be performed to insure the candidate can meet the physical requirements of the job:
    • Must have the ability to lift, push and pull objects weighing up to 70 lbs

    • Must be able to carry weights up to 52 lbs. over the shoulder up to 200 feet (tent) and maintain the grip strength required to carry objects including buckets

    • Must also be able to tip, roll and control a full keg (162 lbs)

    • Must show fine motor dexterity

    • Demonstrate ability to climb, stoop, crawl, twist, squat and reach overhead

    • The position requires frequent, constant standing and walking.
