‘i Electric Light has one (1) bargaining unit vacancy available. Role: Implementor Fundamental Responsibilities


  • Receives and handles calls/inquiries relating to power outages, trouble, property damage, employee accidents, etc. from company personnel and the public.
    • Utilizes maps and electrical single line diagrams to determine expanse of outage/trouble (what circuits are affected, how many customers affected, location, etc.).

    • Utilizes communications equipment to relay information and dispatch department and other company personnel according to procedures.

    • Provides crews and others with directions to site.

    • Receives information and maintains reports of actions taken.


  • Performs timekeeping duties including but not limited to distributing & compiling timecards, data entry, etc.

  • Creates, issues, and updates work orders for inspection and trouble calls.

  • Complies with company procedures and guidelines relating to opening/closing gate and authorizing entrance to base yard.

  • Researches and updates various historical files as necessary.

  • Prepares reports and maintains various logs and files as required.

  • Drives Company vehicles.

  • Utilizes various office equipment such as copiers, facsimile, adding machine/calculator, computers and related software, printers, etc. to perform the duties/responsibilities of the position.

  • Substitutes for Clerk Dispatcher as necessary.

Other Responsibilities

  • Performs similar and incidental duties as required.

Fundamental Requirements

  • Must pass the Edison Electric Institute Support & Administrative Selection System (SASS). Note: Employees who have taken and passed the General Clerical Test do not need to take the SASS.

  • Must pass the SRA Oral & Written Directions Test.

  • Ability to type a minimum of 45 w.p.m. (to be determined by a Company administered performance test).

  • Ability to pass a 10-key adding machine test (to be determined by a Company administered performance test).

  • Must have or be able to qualify for State of Hawaii driver’s license and Company driver’s license.

  • Color blindness not acceptable.

  • Hearing aids/impairment not acceptable.

  • Must have at least 3 years of general office & clerical experience.

  • Must have at least 3 years of experience working with current company utilized computers and related software including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

  • Must be able to work rotating shifts.

  • Must pass Job Sample Test to demonstrate the following abilities:
    • multi-task and prioritize work;

    • work with internal/external customers; and

    • gather, record, and relay information accurately and timely.
