Summary & Primary Responsibilities of Position
Sales and Contracts – The Specialist acts as agent, responsible for booking speaking engagements and closing deals. Specialist focuses primarily on the expansion of the business with the most significant opportunity for growth, including but not limited to youth groups, high schools, social organizations, and university events.
Agent responsibilities include gaining a comprehensive knowledge of the speaker; creating and presenting to potential clients sales pitches for appropriate booking engagements; negotiating fees and agreement terms; preparing contracts; and requesting invoices when necessary.
Event Operations and Fulfillment – For a portion of the clients, the Specialist acts as main point of contact for event fulfillment. Fulfillment includes providing clients with media and promotional assets; confirming and booking speaker’s travel arrangements, AV requirements, itinerary of events, scheduling of any pre-event media interviews; and facilitating client book, t-shirt, and poster orders.
Finance and Administration – Assist with the creation and maintaining of event folders, internal calendars, attendance reports. Provides general support of projects and special events as required.
Travels to a minimum of 3 speaking engagements within 2 hours drive from home per calendar year.
Travel to 2 speaking engagements outside of 2 hours’ drive from home per calendar year.
Education & Experience Requirements
-Associate Degree or equivalent
-Experience working in event operations
-2 years or more experience in event management and sales.
Knowledge & Skills Required
-Proven experience in sales and client relationships and management. Impeccable organization and business communication skills.
-Keen attention to big picture as well as detailed tasks. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
-Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with clients.
-Capable of working independently and being resourceful when required
Other
-This is a 1099/W-9 commission paying position.
-Agent will continue to learn skills to grow and expand business. Learning can include but not limited to watching sales videos, reading books, and attending seminars
Salary: $50,000.00 /year
