BACKGROUND


International Medical Corps, a global humanitarian nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs, seeks candidates for the position of Temporary Resource Development Officer in Los Angeles, CA or Washington, DC.

JOB SUMMARY


The Data & Operations Team, based in Los Angeles, CA, is responsible for the back-office support of all fundraising activities in Resource Development (RD) in the areas of gift processing, record maintenance, fulfillment, data analysis, database management, prospect development, mailing production, and compliance. The Data & Operations Team creates efficiency by supporting backend needs across channels, innovates new solutions for overcoming obstacles, and strives for timeliness, scalability and data-driven culture.


The Resource Development Officer will perform list management, mailing project production, and moves management tasks under the guidance of the Resource Development Operations Officer, and in close collaboration with key project stakeholders across the Institutional Advancement Department and other relevant departments.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


List Management and Mailing Production


  • Work with vendors and staff on the successful, accurate, and timely execution of donor solicitation and cultivation mailings.

  • Manage project timelines, schedules and task lists, and responsibilities; participate in production status meetings; and play an important part in project execution from start to finish.

  • Execute production of mailings, tasks including: paying vendors, estimating counts and costs, content proofing and approval, and arranging resources.

  • Analysis of past mailing performance and developing current strategies and recommendations to maximize success of mailings.

  • Work closely with the departmental VP, Directors, and other staff to manage, track, and customize constituent lists and develop and implement mailing strategies to maximize retention and revenue for high-touch relationships.

  • Work with RD Operations Data team to ensure accurate storage of data and mailing customizations, and help to improve the accuracy and integrity of the database.

  • Work with the Director of Major Gifts and Events to manage event save-the-date, presale, and invitation mailings, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate multiple lists.

  • Support the mailing of donor acknowledgment letters and other mailed materials.

Moves Management


  • Work closely with the Resource Development Officer in the design and process documentation for new moves management system for major and institutional donors.

  • Provide support and facilitate the implementation of the moves management system.

  • Generate pipeline and revenue reports, provide analysis, and update solicitor portfolios.

  • Correspondence tracking, updating constituent information, and data maintenance in the database.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Preferably with 2-4 years of experience in list or project management, mailing production, nonprofit fundraising, direct marketing, and/or data management

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and the entire Microsoft Office suite Excellent organizational skills and superb attention to detail

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Enthusiastic about using data, technology, and process to create efficiency and efficacy

  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to establish relationships with key stakeholders

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge or another CRM preferred
