United States of America: Communications and Fundraising Intern


NFCC International is a global organization working mainly on sexual reproductive health and related women’s issues in Nepal and New York. Our mission is to Empower women and girls through advocacy, safe health services and education to ensure that their sexual and reproductive health needs are being met. NFCC Nepal office has 26 years of expertise and experience on delivering effective and successful programmes on the ground in partnership with leading organizations such as UN, USAID, WASH United, as well as other organizations and government entities.


To complement the work of NFCC Nepal office and expand its knowledge realm and visibility, a Donor Liaison and Representation Office has been established in New York. The aim is to advocate, mobilize resources and built sustainable relationships with partners to cover issues on women’s empowerment, sexual reproductive health and GBV and to further support programme implementation.


NFCC is also currently leading the #Let’sFaceItPeriod social media campaign launched on 1st September and aims to start an open and global dialogue on menstruation and breaking taboos and stigmas that exist worldwide.


The objectives of the campaign are:


  • A social media campaign that will raise awareness on Menstrual Hygiene Management.

  • Generate funding to support five organizations on menstrual health projects. The campaign is conducted jointly by NFCC International and the Bushtember Foundation.

We’re currently looking for a passionate, focused and organized intern to join NFCC International and specifically to support the communications and fundraising strategy for 2016


Responsibilities


  • Provide admin support to the Executive Director

  • Assist with the execution of the campaign objectives

  • Develop and generate ideas for campaign outreach and fundraising

  • Provide support to the social media activities and website maintenance

  • Assist with development of fundraising proposals

  • Other duties as necessary

Qualifications


  • Bachelors Degree in international relations, political science, international development or a related field.

  • Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Demonstrated commitment to Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skillsAttention to detail and follow-through

  • Ability to handle projects with professionalism and discretion

  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Highly proficient in MS Office, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Excel

  • Knowledge and experience with non-governmental organizations, international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-profit organizations.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Excellent social media experience
