About Financial Beginnings


Financial Beginnings increases the financial literacy of youth and adults in the Pacific Northwest. With offices in Seattle and Portland, we empower youth and adults to take control of their financial future through educational programs that incorporate all aspects of personal finance. Our programs provide individuals with the foundation they need to make informed financial decisions. We are a volunteer-driven, community-oriented organization. Our programs are enhanced by the career experience and personal knowledge of our volunteer instructors who serve as strong role models for students. In addition to classroom instruction, we also provide community panels on financial topics and an annual financial literacy conference.


Job Purpose


Reporting to the Washington Program Manager, the Program Coordinator’s primary responsibility is supporting program delivery in schools, with community organizations, through events, and by supporting volunteer instructors. As Financial Beginnings’ Seattle office just recently opened, this team member will be the second employee in the Seattle office.


Responsibilities


  • Provide customer service support to schools, volunteers, partners, and community-based organizations. Ensure program success through administrative support.

  • Coordinate program evaluations from students, teachers and volunteers; perform data-entry, and make recommendations for improvements as needed.

  • Support volunteer training programs.

  • Manage curricula delivery and inventories.

  • Support marketing by providing administrative and organization support to events.

  • Teach personal finance courses as necessary and directed.

  • Other tasks as assigned.

Skills, Education, and Qualifications


  • Detail-oriented

  • Able to juggle competing priorities

  • Strong communication skills, including presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently and be accountable for program goals

  • Strong computer and business skills

  • Strong organization skills

  • Flexible

  • Knowledge of the finance and/or nonprofit industries preferred

Status and Compensation


  • Full-time

  • Status: non-exempt

  • Location: Tukwila, WA

  • Schedule: 8am-4pm Monday through Friday, occasional need for event and/or weekend meetings or events

  • Compensation: $14-16 per hour

  • 20 days of PTO. PTO includes all personal, vacation and sick time

  • 8 paid holidays

  • 6% employer matched 401k, eligible after one year of employment

  • 100% paid health and dental insurance for employee

Job Type: Full-time
