Job Background/Summary:
The Individual Giving Data Specialist is responsible for key data functions and analytics such as routine and ad-hoc reporting, data integrity assurance, and data management.
The Data Specialist will be expected to follow Charitable Giving (CG) Analytics Team’s best-practices and analytical approach to execute tasks in a manner that is timely and accurate.
He/she will adapt to the cohesive analytical approach and disciplined execution as part of the CG Analytics Team. He/she will help adhere to and implement the CG Analytics & Data Vision/Strategy within Individual Giving.
The Data Specialist will be a participating member of the overall CG Analytics Team, which will strive to make Charitable Giving efforts more: • Analytically Driven • Data Focused • and Rigorously Tested.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide primary data analysis support for members of the Individual Giving Team
- Manage monthly reporting for tracking performance metrics of the Annual Giving program, including Direct Mail, Telemarketing, and Digital channels
- Provide analysis and recommendations on how to optimize the Annual Giving program while increasing overall revenue
Provide secondary data analysis support for members of the Leadership Giving Team
- To foster cross training, provide coverage for the Leadership Giving Data Specialist on Leadership Giving monthly reporting and other routine requests
- Collaborate on special projects with the Analytics Manger and Leadership Giving Data Specialist
Lead Individual Giving data/analytics effort as a subject matter expert and specialist
- Exhibit professionalism and leadership in managing the reporting/analysis function for Individual Giving
- Effectively communicate subject matter as the expert in this area and present information (and methodology) in a clear and logical manner to lay staff.
Proactively contribute to team workload in support of Analytics Manager and the Analytics team
- Support the CG Analytics team through proactive contribution and knowledge sharing
- Openly share and provide expertise with colleagues in a way that provides value to the conversation/effort
Manage other routine or ad-hoc data/analysis tasks as assigned by direct supervisor
- Respond to data analysis requests from colleagues within Individual Giving and other CG units
- Collaborate with outside vendors that provide advanced data analysis for Individual Giving

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent experience preferable
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in data reporting/analysis
- Non-profit work experience desirable, but not required
- Strong knowledge of databases and data reporting software
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals and teams
- Ability to listen effectively, learn quickly, and communicate/convey deliverables to all levels
