Our client in North Watford require a Warehouse Assistant with a Forklift Licence to start on asap on a temp to perm basis.
GENERAL
The role of a Warehouse Assistant is to support the Assistant Depot Manager in the efficient operation of the Warehouse and ensuring that company procedures are complied with as regards receipt of goods from suppliers and picking and distribution of goods to customers. Responsibilities include the receipt and despatch of goods, efficient storage, serving customers, stocktaking, loss prevention, cutting material (including but not limited to vinyl, Coir, Trek, Nosing’s, carpet etc) and Health & Safety at Work.
JOB OBJECTIVES
To ensure the highest level of customer service and stock control is maintained by following company procedures.
1. Stock Control
1.1. Assist in the receipt of goods.
All deliveries received are checked correctly and signed by the receiver.
Discrepancies and damages are immediately notified to the Warehouse Supervisor or Sales Office
Roll cards are attached to the correct rolls of material.
Products are safely stored in their correct location, accessible and kept tidy.
1.2. Assist in the picking of goods for delivery.
Accurately pick goods reflected on delivery ticket and sign delivery note.
Place goods in correct loading area.
1.3. Assist in the picking of goods for collection.
Accurately pick goods reflected on delivery ticket and sign delivery note invoice copy.
Check VRN where required.
Obtain customer signature and printed name on invoice copy.
Load customer vehicle.
1.4. Cutting Carpet
Mark cuts to show company cut mark
Minimise roll wastage by ensuring where possible that the Sales Office are selecting rolls that leave saleable balances.
Check measures ends prior to dispatch
Check carpet as cutting to identify defects prior to dispatch where possible
Wrap and mark cuts tidily and effectively
Inform Warehouse supervisor of bay changes
1.5. Cutting Vinyl

1.6. Cutting Coir and Trek

Minimise roll wastage by ensuring where possible that the

Perform weekly stock check and pass to Warehouse Supervisor
1.7. Cutting Nosing’s.
Accurately cut and drill nosing’s as per delivery note/cutting sheet.
Back off and wrap tidily.
Move to correct loading/collection area.
Store usable wastage carefully for reuse.
1.8. Assist in efficient storage within the Warehouse
