Seeking a Online Marketing Specialist (Maternity Cover) based in High Wycombe.


Job Purpose


This is an exciting role that locally drives the marketing activities for Staples online defined by the central marketing team in Amsterdam. As a key member of our local marketing activity, within with country, you will be responsible for the successful performance and growth of marketing through the channels.


We’ll be looking to you to drive our activities that enable hyper growth, so you’ll need to fully learn what local channels and tactics at you have at your disposal. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a key strategic growth stream within Staples.


You’ll evolve the plan (based on real time results and analysis) to deliver right message at the right time to the right customer and deploy this plan via the relevant teams and channels.


The position will work with a variety of cross-functional team members, including local management, Online Operations, Merchandising and Agencies.


Critical results


  • Ensuring Campaigns, Events, Customer Segments, Communication and other activities are timely.

  • Compliance with the agreed Marketing annual budget.

  • Meeting the targets set for traffic & revenue in Online.

Responsibilities


Responsibility 1 – 30% of time


Media and Advertising Management


  • Ensure deliverability of campaigns on time to local market

  • Review performance versus country objectives.

  • Validate local nuances (language, messaging, legal, media mix).

  • Ensure that the customer database is up to do date and utilised to ensure right message, right time is met.

  • Ensure final Customer messaging.

  • Brief local Online operations.

Responsibility 2 – 30% of time


Customer and Campaign Management


  • Work with central team to ensure right message, right customer to drive sales.

  • Validate local nuances (language, messaging, legal, media mix)

  • ERP campaign creation.

  • Manage database process.

Responsibility 3 – 20% of time


Digital Marketing


  • Review performance.

  • Coordinate Customers Promotional Programs.

  • Align and share strategies, insights & ideas and leverage best practices, assets and experience across Europe where applicable.

Responsibility 4 – 20% of time


Marketing Analytics


  • Data population and tracking.

  • Customer Database: creation and maintenance.

Manual check of unmatched customer data and upload in local ERP.


Knowledge, skills & experience


Education and Experience:


  1. 2-3 years in Marketing – Online preferable

  2. University degree in business or related field

  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  4. Attention to detail

  5. Understanding of local customer base

  6. Proficiency in Excel, Access or other relational Databases

  7. Dynamic team member who can share ideas

  8. Creative problem solver

  9. Positive and high-energy team member
