An superb opportunity has arisen for a Fully Qualified Accountant to join a fast growing practice in Hertfordshire, to service audit clients and act as a P.A to partner on portfolio issues.
Job Description
Key Result Areas & Measures of performance
To plan and manage the audit process Stay within budgets on the job; hit billable hours target, hit recoverability target; no. of customer clients
To conduct initial audit file review to manager standard
Meeting standards of manager
To plan, manage and review non audit assignments, e.g. limited companies, partnerships, accounts jobs
To act as a point of contact for all assigned portfolio; to support the team in Partners’ absence to deal with queries
Customer and employee feedback
To identify cross selling opportunities within assigned portfolio Average fee per partner;
To raise fully detailed fee notes on time Timelines by which fees notes are raised and issued to client
To assist in the development of any trainees
To plan and manage portfolio completion in line with internal and external deadlines
To ensure client satisfaction and support for continued growth of the practice
To review account preparation jobs to the equivalent of partner standard and attend clearance meetings where appropriate
To carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the line manager, including ad hoc audit work and projects.

Internal:
Partners – Regular feedback on audit planning, audit management and completion; client affairs, larger accounts jobs;
Team Members – Share knowledge with other team members to enable them to fulfil their roles effectively (provide technical support)
Assistant Auditors and Trainees – If applicable, to supervise on site; assist with their development; audit testing; general technical development; enhancing their commercial awareness
Office Manager – to provide client information and work plan data
External:
Clients – To discuss their audit needs; to identify and deliver new business development; to act as a point of reference for clients for general business enquiries, providing client/business support
Inland Revenue – Tax regulation
Other Associates – client information, pension providers, banks
Regulatory Bodies – Report information to Solicitors Regulatory Authority, Financial Conduct Authority, Companies House, ACCA re: regulation
Person Specification
Knowledge, Skills and experience:
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
• CCAB qualified person (Combined Chartered Accountant Bodies); must have suitable qualifications to qualify as an R.I.
• Lead audit role in Practice; Minimum 3 years audit experience
• Commercial experience desirable but not essential
• Supervisory experience of onsite staff
• Experience of managing a portfolio
• Face to face meeting with clients experience
• Ideally experienced in developing trainees
Knowledge:
IRIS, Mercia audit programme, Experience of 2 or 3 of the following Accounts packages: SAGE, Quickbooks, Xero, MORE, Kashflow, FreeAgent
