Recovery Specialist I – VA Beach


The initial schedule for this role is 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM during a 4 week training; after training, the position may have a flexible schedule between the hours of 7 AM to 6 PM.


The Recovery Specialist I is responsible for handling overpayments or reimbursement from other parties who may be liable for payment of claims. This level handles more routine issues.


Essential duties include, but are not limited to:


  • Determines and calculates amount of overpayment.


  • Issues refund request letters, notice letters, or med lists.


  • Processes voluntary refunds.


  • Adjusts claims based on refund received.


  • Performs other work related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years experience in claims and/or customer service.

  • Must have knowledge of relevant claims systems and related software and good PC skills.

  • Strong excel skills preferred

  • Production oriented call center experience preferred

  • Managed Care/Medicaid processing experience preferred

  • Requires strong problem-solving and oral and written communication skills.
