SAS Programmer - Big Data (25694610)

We’re looking to hire a strong SAS Programmer with an interest in working with Big Data technologies.

You will be part of the Global Data, Insight and Analytics Implementation Team of this international company.

We’re looking for someone with strong SAS Programming but also Data Management skills (ETL, Data Warehouses, Data Marts, Hadoop). The SAS Programmer will support the predictive modellers on any data analytics activities, such us providing “model ready” SAS Datasets so that the modellers can develop models without having to clean and merge raw data files.

Another key responsibility of the SAS Programmer will be to organise the current and future data files into an efficient data structure, and this may require the creation of a Data Warehouse or Data Marts. We have invested a substantial amount into Hadoop technology, and all our “big data” assets and software tools (SAS, R, etc.) are on that platform.

Essential experience:

  • Graduate degree in a numerate subject, with good academic credentials

  • Minimum two years of experience in data analytics with hands-on experience using SAS and SQL.

  • Experience dealing with large data sources from non-conventional Data Warehouses

  • Ability to work on multiple platforms, including PC, Mainframe, and HP running Unix or Linux

  • Experience with Hadoop technology would be very useful, not essential

  • Experience of working in an international organization is also highly desirable

Compensation package:

  • Basic Salary: £35,000 to £45,000

  • Annual Bonus: 5%

  • Private Pension & Healthcare

  • 25 days of holiday

  • Career progression opportunities

This is a fantastic opportunity that will suit a career focussed professional SAS Programmer. All industry backgrounds considered. Please send your CV for immediate review.
