Senior Projects Manager
The Senior Projects Manager is responsible for ensuring that contracts valued between £30K and £1 million are delivered to time and cost and to the satisfaction of the client.
Job Purpose
- To design and develop window treatment solutions on large scale projects and deliver those solutions from procurement through installation to commissioning.
- To deliver projects within budget and to programme to the satisfaction of the main contractor and client.
- To be responsible for the day – to – day running of the project.
- To ensure that programme milestones are met and profitability is maintained.
Main Accountabilities
People Management
- Full responsibility for project Health and Safety with regard to CSSS and sub – contract employees involved in the project.
- To manage the workload of the Contracts, Operations and Projects staff to ensure the effective use of resources.
- To manage holidays, sickness and other absence for the team.
- To hold regular team meetings to ensure effective internal communication.
- To co-ordinate the performance management review process, identify learning gaps and development opportunities for team members.
Technical
- To oversee several projects concurrently from concept through to completion.
- To interpret client requirements, identify design parameters,address engineering problems and ensure that solutions are implemented.
- Preparation of all contract documentation in accordance with company procedures.
- To draft contract administration correspondence.
- To ensure timely and accurate contract reporting.
- To negotiate contract variations with the client/contractor, issue and monitor contract amendments. To ensure the accurate recording of contract amendment justifications to protect CSSS against any subsequent commercial claims.
- To submit contract claims.
- To evaluate, organise and prioritise work within the project schedule.
- To manage all sub contract agencies throughout the project.Ensuring all work is delivered to time, cost and quality.
- To ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures and to develop those procedures according to project requirements if necessary.
- To be responsible for all testing and inspection documentation including review of subcontractor testsheets.
- To attend client contract review meetings and site meetings as CSSS representative.
- To implement Quality Assurance and Control for all aspects of CSSS work including the inspection of sub contract equipmentand services.
Financial
To be responsible and accountable for all aspects of cost control ensuring the profitability of the project.
To report regularly on the financial status of the project in accordance with CSSS procedures. Monitoring and controlling budgets, overhead costs and targets.
Other
To manage all necessary internal and external relationships ensuring effective communication with regard to project performance.
To utilise site and contract online sharing portals such as BIW and Hummingbird to manage relevant project information.
