Membership Coordinator job - Butte County Farm Bureau - Oroville, CA
The Butte County Farm Bureau has an immediate opening for a full-time Membership Coordinator. The ideal candidate will be a personable, self-starter who has experience interacting with members of the agriculture community and can communicate the values of a membership organization.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development and retention of the organizations membership.
- Become familiar with the membership benefits and discount programs to educate members and encourage new Farm Bureau memberships. - Create a working knowledge and understanding of local agriculture – issues, policies, programs, events, news topics, etc. – to be able to interact and relate with members and potential members. - Learn and understand internal membership database program (CFBF Database). - Communicate with all membership categories including, current, potential, former and delinquent members. - Prepare all membership mailings. - Create and have available membership packets. - Prepare letters for all membership situations. - Visit current, expired and potential members at the farms, ranches, offices or homes and discuss the value of Farm Bureau membership. - Understand California Farm Bureau membership royalty program and track BCFB progress. - Develop new and creative methods for membership growth. - Maintain relationships with Business members. - Manage BCFB Membership Committee - Annual increase in membership and monthly goals will be used for measurement.
Manage the execution of assigned BCFB events and program. Tasks may include but will not be limited to:
- Invitation and promotional materials creation. - Handling of event contractors including such as caterers, rental firms, venues, sound, etc. - Coordinating volunteers. - Attendance tracking. - Organizing, set-up, take down and pick-up and return of borrowed/rented event needs.
Answer telephones, greet members and the public entering the office, filing, and opening and sorting of mail.
Perform general clerical duties as needed to include but not limited to: letter writing, photocopying, faxing, mailing and filing. Assist in the organization and maintenance of the office so that it operates effectively and efficiently.
Prepare for and attend monthly Board meetings. Tasks include
- Provide necessary membership reports to the board.
Maintain constant communication with BCFB Executive Director regarding any issues or items needing timely attention.
Attend and assist in the organization and execution of all BCFB events as needed.
Support BCFB Executive Director in operation of the Butte County Farm Bureau.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Passionate self-starter.

Ability to manage their time to accomplish tasks in a routine and timely manner.
Can work independently without supervision.
Working knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Willingness to balance working with different responsibilities and manage multiple priorities in a professional and productive manner.
Maintains a basic belief in the value of Farm Bureau membership, community organizations, and the agricultural industry.
Willingness to learn, ask for help, and offer and accept suggestions in a professional manner.
Able to assist in coordinating volunteers.
Have a good work ethic.
Desire to work in a team environment and with volunteers.
Qualifications:
Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with major course work in agriculture, communications, public relations or a related field.
Passionate about agriculture.
Will be supportive of other staff.
A desire to work in a team environment with volunteers.
An ability to work on own initiative; be proactive, organized and find solutions to problems and challenges.
Current CA Driver’s License.
Reliable transportation.
