My client are an established, top 50 accountancy firm in Watford. They provide advice and support to individuals and businesses ranging from small family enterprises to large international corporations including specialist divisions such as media, education, contractors, golf clubs, FCA regulated businesses and charities.
The role:
- Maintaining Accounts Payable function within the office dealing with a high volume of invoices using QuickBooks and Document Manager (Scanning software). Paying suppliers by producing files for BACS transmission and writing cheques as necessary. Sending out remittances. Assisting with payroll
- Dealing with expense claims, posting to clients’ ledgers where necessary and updating any spreadsheets as required.
- Drawing cheques as required and dealing with adhoc payment requests.
- Taking Credit card details from clients and processing as necessary.
- Producing debt chasing letters using word and mail merge. Maintaining various spreadsheets in Excel.
- Updating debt collection companies of debts to chase.
- Dealing with general administration, ad hoc tasks and scanning as required.
- Providing back up support to the Finance Manager when required.
- Providing cover for the Finance Manager maintaining sales ledger, recurring fees, direct debits and payroll processing including RTI and Auto Enrolment.
- To carry out such other duties as required from time to time as instructed by the Finance Principal/Principals.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- IT competent and be familiar with computerised packages including QuickBooks, Excel, Word.
- The ability to work on their own initiative and be flexible.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to prioritise and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Positive approach.
- Confidentiality.
Employment Details:
- Part time hours of work: 9.30 am – 2.30 pm, Monday to Friday, with no lunch (hours can be extended if lunch preferred) (25 hours per week).
- Remuneration will be dependent on experience.
- The package will include:
- Death In Service scheme cover (4x salary).
- Auto Enrolment Pension Scheme (Employer: 5%; Employee: 3%) subject to eligibility.
- Group Income Protection Scheme (non contributory) following completion of a 13-week probationary period.
- Annual Leave will be 23 days per annum, 3 days are normally taken at Christmas/New Year.
