Secretary 9 - UP (Marquette) District Office - State of Michigan - Marquette, MI

Provides administrative, operational, and secretarial assistance to the District Supervisor, Environmental Quality Analysts, Geologists, and Enforcement Specialist. Act as liaison between District staff and Lansing staff; other department divisions; other state, county, and local governmental departments and officials; legislators; environmental consultants; attorneys; industry representatives; insurance representatives; and the general public. Assume responsibility for overall daily office operations. Coordinate response to information requests from environmental consultants, attorneys, industry and insurance representatives, legislators, section, division and department management, and the general public. This position is designated as security-sensitive and therefore requires a Criminal History Background Check.

Required Education and Experience
Education

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.


Experience

Four years of administrative support experience where use of a personal computer to prepare correspondence, reports, charts, etc., or to enter/retrieve/update information is an essential part of the work, including two years equivalent to experienced E7-level administrative support work, or equivalent to a Secretary 7, or Legal Secretary 7.


OR


Four years of administrative support experience where use of a personal computer to prepare correspondence, reports, charts, etc., or to enter/retrieve/update transactions is an essential part of the work, including one year equivalent to advanced 8-level administrative support work, or equivalent to a Secretary E8, or Legal Secretary E8.
