Under GAIN’s Agriculture for Nutrition Initiative, the Marketplace for Nutritious Foods (MNF) program has been established to promote innovation and catalyze private sector engagement in producing and marketing more nutritious foods that are accessible to lower income populations. It does this through improving access to knowledge, networks, technical assistance and funding support to local small and medium scale agri-food enterprises.
The Senior Associate, Monitoring, Learning and Research in Agriculture Nutrition Global Program will provide technical and project management support to the Marketplace for Nutritious Foods program by coordinating its country-level evaluation activities (75%), and provide technical support (25%) to evaluation-related activities of other Agriculture-Nutrition programs (eg, Post-Harvest Loss Reduction and Nutritious Food Value Chain programs).
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in disciplines related to agriculture or food systems and nutrition, as well as have experience in participatory research and impact evaluation in relevant fields, project management experience in development-related research and experience in quantitative research and analysis. Experience in qualitative research and analysis would be an advantage. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be able to interpret research findings and translate findings for practical application in the program. He/she should have proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, work independently, and work well under pressure with frequent deadlines. The ideal candidate must be fluent in English and have the ability to travel domestically and overseas as required.
