About the Agency
This position serves as the secretary to Office of the Administrator-Office of Chief Counsel within the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
The ideal candidate should have experience in researching legal information and using controlled correspondence management systems.

Duties
As a Secreatry (OA) , you will:
- Track customer’s and staff members’ schedules in order to verify travel availability and maintains travel profiles.
- Maintain personal calendar and long-range activity schedule, coordinating meetings, briefings, and other personal contacts with high ranking officials from DOT, other federal agencies, States, & Congress ensure accomplishment of agency’s mission and goals.
- Research, collect, and organize information related to regular reports furnished to the Chief Counsel and other OST offices.
- Research legal cases and pull requested information from docket files.
- Receive, screens for content, and process all correspondence in accordance with OST/DOT and FMCSA guidelines

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must the specialized experience requirements for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.
For the GS-06, to qualify on Experience , you must have one year of specialized experience equal or equivalent to the following:
- Experience in tracking legal information and performing other administrative tasks such as correspondence and preparing travel.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
