Job Description:
Seeking someone to accompany parent educators on in-home visits to migrant parents and conduct child abuse prevent / neglect direct services,to conduct workshops to Pennsylvania migrant parents, parent educators, and parent leaders and advocates on child abuse / neglect, to provide training and support to parent educators on child abuse and neglect issues, and to maintain case files. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accompany parent educators on in-home visits to migrant parents and conduct child abuse prevent / neglect direct services
- Conduct workshops to Pennsylvania migrant parents, parent educators, and parent leaders and advocates on child abuse / neglect
- Provide training and support to parent educators on child abuse and neglect issues
- Maintain case files
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field
- Minimum of five years’ experience conducting in-home visits, parent education, and other family support services
- Demonstrated knowledge in the use of a Protective Factors Approach to address child abuse and neglect
- Familiar working with the migrant farmworker population
- Competency and experience in working with diverse cultures
- Valid PA Driver license
- Necessary clearances, including:
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
- Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check
- Access to reliable transportation and able to use it for job related tasks
- Bilingual in English/Spanish required
- Knowledge of relevant resources within the communities of central and south central Pennsylvania
- Experience strengthening, expanding, enhancing, and/or coordinating existing initiatives to prevent child abuse and neglect
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain a database
- Ability to work in a team
- Demonstrated ability to conduct training workshops and serve as a resource to parent educators
- Highly organized
