Job summary:
- Maintains quality standards by inspecting, testing, sorting, sampling, materials or processed, machined, fabricated, or assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from standards and specifications.
- Programing and operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) using PC-DMIS software and utilizing manual inspection equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications requirements utilizing best method of inspection (manual and/or CMM).
- Program and operate CMM against drawing and model requirements.
- Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
- Read work orders, blueprints or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.
- Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
- Record inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content, and quantities inspected.
- Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems.
- Discard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications.
- Collect or select samples for testing or for use as models.
- Write test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs.
- Recommend necessary corrective actions, based on inspection results.
- Compare physical characteristics of materials or products to specifications or standards.
- Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards
- Evaluate quality of materials or products.
- Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning.
- Monitor equipment operation to ensure that products are not flawed.
- Stack finished items for further processing or shipment.
- Sort materials or products for processing, storing, or shipping.
- Measure dimensions of completed products or work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
- Measure ingredients or substances to be used in production processes.
- Collect samples of materials or products for testing.
- Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 to 10 years of experience
- Knowledge on Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing ( GD&T ),
- Programming and operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines with PC-Dmis software.
- Able to use desktop computer to generate spreadsheets, presentations, databases and documents.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge on AS9100 working environment and First Article Inspection (AS9102)
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
