Employee Services Clerk (Workers' Compensation) - Columbus Water Works - Columbus, GA






ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Performs technical and administrative work of a highly confidential nature within the Employee Services Department. The primary focus of this position is the support of the Workers’ Compensation Program and other Human Resources Functions; incumbent provides direct support in the management of the workers’ compensation program, to include processing and filing of claims, CWW’s Return to Work Program and serving as a liaison between the WC healthcare provider, employee and supervisor; coordinate, schedule and maintain records of monthly safety committee meetings; compiles and maintains records and reports for safety and workers’ compensation administration; maintains personnel, workers’ compensation, and safety records; incumbent performs technical duties of a highly confidential nature related to general office administration and maintaining personnel documents; prepares reports and maintains correspondence in support of Employee Services activities; prepares general office correspondence to include letters, purchase requisitions, monthly board reports, slide presentations and memorandums; provide administrative support in ensuring periodic and timely general employee communications, to include climate surveys, payroll stuffers, monthly birthday calendars, etc.; may respond to general questions in all areas of Human Resources such as benefits, policies, and employee relations programs.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED required; Two years progressively responsible work experience in human resource environment in the field of workers’ compensation and safety programs performing administrative and analytical duties required. One year work experience in computer operations, medical terminology and HRIS database system preferred. Good knowledge of computer database programs and software such as MS Office Suite, preferably MS Excel, Webpage Design, Social Media and HRIS systems required; working knowledge and ability to interpret general policies and procedures and Human Resource Laws to include the FLSA, FMLA, USERRA and general employment practices, policies and procedures; Organizational skills and experience in the development and management of routine projects; possess strong interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written to present ideas and information in a clear and concise manner. Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
