America’s Thrift Stores is recruiting Sales Associates for our 18 stores. We are looking for Cashiers, Sale Floor Merchandisers and Customer Service Team Members. Our search is focused on people with great customer service skills, combined with a great work ethic and a passion for helping people. Successful candidates will drive sales through exceptional customer service, proper display set-up and maintenance, merchandise presentation and cleanliness for operational excellence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Team Member provides excellent Customer Service by: Talking to every customer within two minutes of their arrival Answering Customer requests promptly Assisting Customers in finding merchandise. Answering cash register calls promptly Operating the register when needed Demonstrating a high sense of urgency with all assignments Following proper procedures for handling claims merchandise Being knowledgeable about products, discounts, and company mission Providing assistance to the front end Associates with pricing Remains knowledgeable regarding all areas of the store operation The Team Member maintains a properly merchandised department through: Zoning the department Ensuring the merchandise is properly signed and priced Maintaining features Following proper procedures for: Hanging Dropping Pricing opportunities Discounts Company Signage Housekeeping Practices safe work habits by: Cleaning all spills quickly Following all safety and emergency policies and procedures Keeping the floor clear of all objects Properly using all ladders and ensuring they are not left on the sales floor Ensuring all displays are secured in a safe and proper manner Ensuring Occupational Health and Safety Act guidelines are being followed properly Being knowledgeable about emergency and safety procedures Qualifications: Must like people Must be an avid shopper and knowledge able in diverse brands and clothing quality. Strong customer service orientation. Excellent communicator and one that seeks the customer out as a means to interact Capable of building and sustaining relationships with a variety of individuals Able to accurately keep records and communicate daily progress to management Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple activities at one time. Naturally mission driven, guided by core values. Education: High School Degree, GED or equivalent work experiences.
