CARE is seeking a Program Officer who will provide critical support to the Strategic Partnerships team and help ensure the success of CARE’s corporate and foundation partnerships. S/he will compile reports on current and prospective donors, track trends, prepare internal briefings and other support materials, assist in grants management and reporting, and provide overall administrative support to the Strategic Partnerships team.
Responsibilities
Support the Associate Vice President of Strategic Partnerships on overall team management responsibilities including, but not limited to, meeting logistics, WebEx calls, documentation during meetings, team retreats, etc.
Update internal databases and systems regarding funding opportunities and donor contacts.
Maintain a tracker for top corporate and foundation prospects.
Conduct thorough corporate due diligence research and analysis of corporate partners based on CARE’s due diligence process and prepare reports and presentations of the findings.
Manage and organize research on corporate prospects or trends to support team and sector strategies.
As needed, support Relationship Managers in responding to partners’ requests for information related to CARE’s work by accessing internal and external sources.
Provide grants management support to Relationship Managers, including tracking deadlines, reviewing documents, completing forms and templates, collaborate with program Grants Managers, and other related duties as needed.
Serve as the team’s grants manager for team-held project budgets, including establishing fund codes, project IDs, loading budgets, and providing RMs regular expense reports.
Assist team members during proposal development efforts, including drafting contracts, working with Procurement to contract consultants, document drafting and review, ensuring compliance with CARE policies and procedures, and other relevant responsibilities.
Support logistics and organization for internal and donor meetings, including compiling PowerPoints and preparing donor information packets.
Ensure strong management and organization of the team’s common drives and pertinent related folders.
Liaise with various administrative and support departments at CARE USA and develop expertise on for navigating internal systems to support and expedite grant proposals, award processing and other pertinent team needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s preferred in a relevant field;
2 – 3 years in a similar research/support position;
Experience working in corporate and/or foundation fundraising a plus;
Sound knowledge of research processes, applications and tools;
Ability to write basic correspondence and capacity statements;
Ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of information/data;
Experience in budgeting and research;
Ability to work independently and at a fast pace;
Adequate oral and written communication skills;
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word;
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
