Web Producer


The U.S. Fund for UNICEF has a complex and wide-ranging set of digital properties and priorities. Reporting to the Deputy Director, Digital Platforms, the Web Producer will take the lead on all online production efforts and help create a cutting-edge team in the digital non-profit space.


Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):


  • Schedule production tasks and organize incoming requests

  • Create and maintain an organizational digital production calendar

  • Develop clear, realistic guidelines for all internal front-end code

  • Help create and maintain a clear, adaptable org-wide information architecture

  • Create simple wireframes based on content goals and guidelines

  • Work with design team (and within style guidelines) to create templates and tweak old ones

  • Troubleshoot and solve front-end bugs (including cross-browser issues)

  • Work with data and analytics manager to ensure properly integration of external systems

  • Oversee code and manage production side of relationship with external vendors

  • Develop detailed and quick quality assurance protocols

  • Help train other staff in use of CMS and light production tasks

  • Occasionally present and train other parts of the organization to raise digital literacy

  • Potentially help devise and run user and A/B testing (Optimally)

  • Occasionally take on project management responsibilities

Qualifications


  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in a Web production role

  • Experience with CMS tools and extending open-source frameworks like Drupal and WordPress

  • Strong knowledge and interest in modern, mobile-optimized, standards-based HTML and CSS (including responsive design)

  • Familiarly with PHP

  • Familiarity with common JavaScript libraries and frameworks (jQuery)

  • Background using revision control systems a plus (Git)

  • Experience with user-centered design philosophy (Krug, Nielsen)

  • Strong interest for keeping up with the latest in Web standards, best practices and technology, and emerging methods of digital communication

  • Knowledge of mobile platforms and application frameworks preferred

  • Experience with online project management preferred

  • Knowledge of modern organizational software preferred (Freshdesk, Assembla, Basecamp, Google Docs, etc.)

  • Perform other assignments as needed

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in team environment

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, for tech and layperson audiences

  • Willingness to work extra hours during emergency responses when needed

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
