JOB SUMMARY


The Financial Analyst will be responsible for the interpretation of various financial reports produced on a monthly basis.


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare management financial reports as needed.


• Analyze and interpret various financial reports produced on a monthly basis.


• Review and analyze corporate expenses.


• Conduct analysis of income statement and balance sheet variances and fluctuations.


• Prepare budgets and forecasts for consolidated organizational budget.


• Assist in year end audit preparations.


• Maintain electronic and hard copy files.


• Contribute to the creation of a positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the organizations Code of Conduct, ethics, values and stand-point with regard to internal and external actors


• Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps


Compliance & Ethics: Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps’ and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards. Conducts work with the highest level of integrity. Communicates these values to staff and to partners and requires them to adhere to these values.

Qualifications:

  1. Education and/or Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required; One to two years of experience in the field are required. Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as well as Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements and interpretations or equivalent experience, training and education. Knowledge of USAID regulations and familiarity with CFR 200 a plus. Comprehensive financial process knowledge and experience with automated business and financial systems, spreadsheets, and word processing required.


  1. Other Skills and Abilities

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Excel.


• Knowledge of Cost Point ERP/IBM Cognos a plus.


• Good communication and organizational skills.


• Able to interact with all levels of financial and program management.


• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and perform with minimum supervision.


• Outstanding organizational skills.


• Attention to detail.
