OVERVIEW: The role functions as a member of a team that is directly responsible of the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities. This role will operate/change over specified machinery in an assigned area. Operations Assistants must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement. Operator Assistants must have the skill set to train and/or perform the tasks of other associates in the area as needed. This job requires strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support the Greenville site objectives.
JOB DUTIES:


  • Perform all assigned activities and job tasks within a line or area including quality checks, to include weighing, sealing, appearance, proper material, codes, dates, coupons, and relative standards for a quality product.

  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner

  • Takes corrective actions in resolving problems to root cause level

  • Performs and/or works with maintenance to complete equipment preventive maintenance

  • Maintains accurate records of QC checks, production numbers or waste performance

  • Maintain neat and accurate reports on production down-time, weights, tickets, quality checks and all other reports.

  • Maintain efficient production and keep waste and spoilage materials to a minimum.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in basic mathematic applications such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and calculation of averages.

  • Demonstrate competency in computer and pc software including MS office and email

  • Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules

  • Ability to read/comprehend written and oral instruction in English language

  • Successful completion of a substance screening and background check

  • Must have ability to safely operate forklift, push-pull and packaging equipment.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Standing on a concrete floor

  • Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform)

  • Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50lbs

  • Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust and chemicals

  • Forklift assignments requires OSHA certification and getting on and off frequently

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have mechanical aptitude to learn operation of necessary equipment, computer terminal and to perform minor adjustments.

  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience operating a variety of machines

  • Knowledge of inventory control principles

  • Ability to operate a forklift/OSHA certification
